By now, I’m sure that almost everyone in the US will be familiar with the story of Whisper, a young bottlenose dolphin who was found in 2005 trapped in a crab trap. Her tail eventually had to amputated, whereupon she was fitted with a prosthetic tail. The story has recently been dramatized in the film Dolphin Tale, with Whisper playing herself. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I would highly recommend going. It’s a wonderful, uplifting tale that will speak to anyone who has suffered a seemingly irredeemably loss.
