As a conscientious owner of an energetic dog (and particularly if you don’t have a large yard) you should take your dog to the dog park at least once or twice a week, if you can. More infrequent visits are still enjoyable for your dog as well. Dog parks are a great place to socialize your dog. Restless dogs with an over-abundance of energy also tend to become destructive, so it’s important to make sure that your dog is getting enough exercise. A well-exercised and well-socialized dog is much happier than a dog that is cooped up in the house every day and doesn’t know how to interact with other dogs. Set your dog, and yourself, up for success by doing everything that you can to ensure that you have a confident, well-socialized and happy dog.
