How to Make Homemade Play-doh


 

 

 

 

You probably never thought there was a way to make your own homemade Play-doh! Play-Doh is an excellent exercise for your child’s mind. Play-doh teaches children how to craft, mold, design and most importantly-use their mind. Home-made Play-Doh is fun for the whole family. As an adult, how fun does this sound?

In 1965, Rainbow Crafts was issued a patent for Play-Doh. Since then, Play-Doh has made way to millions oh households. In 1996, gold and silver were added to Play-Doh’s palette to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Grab the kids and get started! This is also an excellent idea for “Show and Tell”. Your child will have the entire classroom interested on their “How To Make Homemade Play-Doh” presentation. Of course, practice makes perfect. Just follow these simple steps:

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (veg)
  • 1 cup water
  • 7 drops food coloring

Directions:

  1. Mix dry ingredients with oil
  2. Add food coloring to water and mix together.
  3. Add water to flour/salt/oil mixture slowly (about 1/4 cup at a time) and mix together with a spoon.
  4. Once you’ve added all the water, knead the dough with your hands.
