Extraordinary Stories: The Small Family

Ariel Small and his family are from Illinois.  They have been through a lot of challenges but have been able to beat all of the obstacles.  Ariel Small was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the age of six.  He is now sixteen years old and was presented the 2010 TSA Outstanding Youth Achievement Award.  Not only did Ariel receive an award, but his mother and father did, too.  They were awarded the 2010 TSA Humanitarians of the Year Award.  The TSA chairman stated the awarded was given to them because they care so much about familes dealing with Tourette Syndrome.  While Ariel is hard at training to play on the high school football team, his mom Robin is fully focused on a project called “Small Matters.”  This orject is actually a documentary film that is full of information and inspiration for families that live every day with Tourette Syndrome.  This family is one of a kind because not one of then is left behind.  They all put forth blood, sweat, and tears to make things possible for other families that need support.
